Monthly is the same app, paid over time. Cancel any time from Settings inside N.O.V.A. and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. You can buy out to the one-time license later (the $125 is the full price, past monthly payments are not credited). Your key is emailed right after payment.

Either way, your AI usage is billed by Anthropic to your own account, so you only pay for what you use. Voice is included during the free trial. After that, talking to N.O.V.A. and its natural voices use your own OpenAI account, billed by OpenAI directly to you (typing and the free built-in voice never need it).
